Understanding the New OINP Employer Portal
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is launching a new Employer Portal on July 2, 2025, marking a fundamental shift from an applicant-led to an employer-led process for the OINP's Employer Job Offer streams. This digital transformation replaces the current paper-based Application for Approval of an Employment Position (Employer Form) with a secure and user-friendly online platform.
Key Features of the New OINP Employer Portal
As immigration consultants specializing in Ontario immigration, we're particularly excited about these innovative features designed to streamline the immigration process:
Seamless integration with My Ontario, providing a one-window service delivery platform
Online submission and management of applications, eliminating paper-based forms
Direct communication capabilities between employers and the OINP
Secure document uploads ensuring compliance with OINP requirements
Auto-population of application fields to reduce duplication and errors
Authorized representatives support allowing employers to add immigration consultants like our team at Canadore Immigration
Simplified application tracking through a user-friendly dashboard
The Shift to an Employer-Led Process
As immigration professionals, we understand the complexities of this transition from an applicant-led to an employer-led process for the OINP's Employer Job Offer streams. Previously, foreign nationals would initiate the Expression of Interest (EOI) process and then ask their employer to submit an "Application for Approval of an Employment Position" in support of their candidacy.
Under the new system, employers must first submit employment position details through the portal before an applicant can register an EOI. This change ensures that job offers meet program standards before candidates can register, reducing errors and expediting processing times.
Timeline for Implementation
Our team at Canadore Immigration is closely monitoring this transition to ensure our clients are prepared. The OINP has established this timeline:
June 20 - July 2, 2025: No new EOIs can be created for Employer Job Offer streams
June 21-22, 2025: Existing EOIs under Employer Job Offer streams will be automatically withdrawn
June 27-29, 2025: The OINP system will be unavailable for all streams
July 2, 2025: The new OINP Employer Portal officially launches
After July 2, employers will be able to register on the portal and provide employment position information, which will enable applicants to re-register their EOIs. New EOIs registered after July 2 will be eligible for future program draws and will remain valid for 12 months.
Affected Streams
As consultants specializing in all OINP pathways, we want to clarify that these changes to the application process will affect the following OINP streams:
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream
Employer Job Offer: International Student stream
Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream
Applicants in these streams who have already submitted an EOI will need to work with their employers to re-initiate their applications once the portal launches.
