Ontario has once again shown its commitment to attracting skilled workers by conducting one of its largest immigration draws of the year. On June 3, 2025, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued a total of 3,719 invitations to apply across multiple streams, targeting specific regions and priority occupations to address labor shortages throughout the province.

Key Highlights from the June 3, 2025 Draw

Focus on Eastern Ontario

Eastern Ontario received 334 targeted invitations for candidates with job offers in the region. Candidates needed to be residing in Canada and have a Bachelor’s degree or higher. This area includes Ottawa, Leeds and Grenville, Lanark, Frontenac, Peterborough, Hastings, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Renfrew, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland, Prescott and Russell, Lennox and Addington, and Prince Edward.

Northern Ontario Receives Strong Support

Northern Ontario saw 973 targeted invitations for candidates with job offers in this region. Like Eastern Ontario, candidates needed to be living in Canada and hold at least a Bachelor’s degree. Northern Ontario includes Muskoka, Nipissing, Parry Sound, Manitoulin, Sudbury, Greater Sudbury, Timiskaming, Cochrane, Algoma, Thunder Bay, Rainy River, and Kenora.

Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) Pilot

The REDI pilot program issued 843 invitations to candidates who may qualify under the Employer Job Offer streams and are currently residing in Canada. This pilot helps smaller communities attract the skilled workers they need.

Priority for Healthcare Occupations

Healthcare workers received special attention in this draw. Invitations were sent to candidates with job offers in priority health occupations, including doctors, nurses, nurse aides, home support workers, and more. For most healthcare roles, candidates needed a score of 68 or above. For home support workers under the In-Demand Skills stream, a score of 34 or above was required.

Important Application Update

All new applications under the Employer Job Offer streams must include the updated Application for Approval of Employment Position (Employer Form) as of April 10, 2024. Using an older version of this form will result in your application being returned as incomplete and your fee refunded.

If you received an invitation on June 3, 2025, you can apply to the Employer Job Offer stream for which you were invited. Here’s how to apply:

  1. Review the requirements for your specific Employer Job Offer stream.

  2. Check the document checklist to ensure you have all mandatory documents.

  3. Log in to the OINP e-Filing Portal and click the new file number with the prefix JOXX.

  4. Remember, your new application file number is different from your EOI file number. The EOI file number will be greyed out—this is normal.
